Bristol and bluebells

We've just returned from a visit to the city of Bristol, and what a very nice city it is too. Just up my street, lots of wonderful architecture, history and a great student vibe!

We met up with our son and family who were staying opposite this amazing building......

The Wills Memorial Building(Schools of Law and Earth Sciences) on Park Street, Bristol

What about those gargoyles

We, on the other hand had found a lovely place to park our motorhome in the park at the top of the gorge, and went exploring.

The Clifton suspension bridge in one direction

and somewhere else in the other.......

Like Cardiff, Bristol seems to be blessed with lots of green space and this lovely park was no exception, complete with this beautiful observation tower.

guarded by these mythical beasts.

We couldn't  go up that  day as we had a little person to look after and I think he might have been a bit scared!

And of course there was all that modern architecture to discover.

Fantastic!

And just to finish on a totally different note I saw my first drift of bluebells today.... magic!

Wonderful!

I live not far from Bristol. Great photos and it is good to see the city through a visitor's eyes. Love the bluebells. It is so strange to have daffodils still blooming when bluebells and all sorts of later flowers are coming out.

Beautiful bluebells and I love the bird sitting on top of that great trumpet! Looks like a duck to me :)

This brought back memories. I used to live in Clifton when I was a student doing my teacher training. It's years since I've been back. Happy Easter.
