Silk paper and post

As I mentioned in my last post I have been busy making silk paper for the forthcoming exhibition. So here's a glimpse of three out of the six I want make.

I'm trying a different form of framing this time, instead of the usual box frame I'm going for acrylic, see what you think, I'm not sure.

The text will be a bit short on the next few posts as I'm trying to teach myself to touch type, of sorts! So fed up with typos!

I received my April PC from Carol T on the CG blog, and it's lovely, really sparkley in the flesh.

The silk papers are lovely. I like the acrylic framing for textile type pieces. I have seen several pieces of work framed in this way and I think it works really well.
Lovely postcard!

These are fabulous Sharon, and I love the perspex frame, it means you see the artwork without any distractions.

These should fit the countryside theme very well.

The acrylic frames are very effective.
Love the silk paper. Our next textile group get together is going to be silk paper making so we'll see what we come up with, I love the trapped leaves and flowers.

The silk papers look fantastic, and usually I'm a fan of acrylic mounting but something doesn't look right. Is the acrylic too hard and shiney for the leaves/paper? I actually preferred them on the wood that you photographed them on - it was more organic!

The silk pieces are wonderful Sharon. I do like them in the acrylic frames but think you would have to be careful of the background you put them against.
I think I actually prefer them on the wooden background.
Very much looking forward to your exhibition as I have now arranged to be there :)

Love the silk pieces. Do you make your own frames or buy them (if so from where?) I'm thinking about framing for my exhibition and on the lookout for ideas and tips :)
