Dedication is all you need!!

We have a pair of chaffinches nesting in our hedge , so of course my intrepid OH has had to get out all the gear to get a pic of Mum and Dad on the nest.
You might think this was a fairly quick procedure, unless of course you've been following the Spring Watch team, on T V. Anyway if has involved scaling the ladder from dawn till dusk in order to achieve about 300 shots, one of which is this beauty.
BTW he set his gear up slowly over several days so Mum and babies were well used to him and took no notice of him during the daily feeding frenzy. Boy am I glad I'm not a Mummy bird, she never stops!

And just to prove it here she is in another shot , hot off the camera ! Isn't she gorgeous!

Speaking of babies I thought you might like to see one of the recent shots of our latest GS, he wasn't too happy here as yo can see, I thought his T-shirt said it all. But on the other hand, maybe he was thinking:

One day I'll be as clever as my big brother!

We're off on another flying visit to our DS and his DF for Father's Day so will be off line till late Sunday/Monday, have a good weekend.

Amazing photos of the chaffinches -are you eligible to enter the Countryfile competition?

Your GSs are gorgeous, especially the newcomer :o)

Hope you have a good weekend.

Ha, Does the photographer know he's being photographed!!!
I can see why he gets such fantastic photos, I think I'll stick to textiles, it's safer on the ground.
Perhaps your OH should copyright these???

Excellent pics. Well worth the wait. I have a Dunnock's nest in a bush with eggs in but the foliage is so dense I couldn't manage photos.

Hi Sharon
fantastic birdy shots - congrats to your other half. My other half (also a camera nut) thought they were excellent esp. the second one.
Just think of the fabulous textile you could make from that image esp. the nest.

Your GS's are just gorgeous! I'm reflecting that mama bird is working SO hard, but papa bird is hanging about looking fine - why does nature do that for the blokes?? Just saying ... :)
